General procurement notice for Acquisition of rice seeds, fertilizers and agrochemicals
1. The Republic of Mozambique has received a grant from the African Development Fund to finance the Supplementary Grant for The Post Cyclones Idai And Kenneth Emergency Recovery and Resilience Programme For Mozambique, Malawi And Zimbabwe (PCIREP). The Recipient%s Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources (MoPWHW) is the executing agency (the "Executing Agency") for the Programme. The implementing agency (the "Implementing Agency") is Post Cyclone Idai Reconstruction Cabinet (GREPOC), a Cabinet of the (MoPWHW). The Programme aims to assist farmers in all the affected Provinces by cyclones Idai and Kenneth to improve their livelihood and resilience to natural disasters through transversal activities. The allocated amount is UA 4M. the Programme is expected to be implemented till the end of June 2025. 2. The principal objectives of this project are to: (i) Help re-establish sustainable livelihoods and kick start economic activities of the affected populations of Tropical Cyclones Idai and Kenneth in the afore mentioned countries; (ii) Build resilience to manage climate risks; (iii) Ensure the resilience of the power and road network for economic recovery; and (iv) Support cross boundary trade in the affected region. 3. The project includes the following components: (a) Component 1: Enhanced Agricultural Productivity & Resilience. This component will consist of; (i) restoring and improving) the productive agricultural infrastructure; (ii) the capacity of the farmers to return and to improve their productivity level through the provision of agricultural kits, livestock redistribution and the provision and repairing of machinery; and (iii) the training of farmers on climate smart agriculture and on the improvement of their adaptability capacity to climate changes. (b) Component 3: Institutional Strengthening and Program Management. This component will focus on programme management; capacity building in climate risk management; community development and training; monitoring and evaluation; financial management; and development of a communication strategy. It will also cover other programme management activities including audit.
