Dredging of Mkinkomo Weir May 2021 is located on the Lusushwana river in Matsapha and it supplies water to
Edwaleni and Maguduza hydro power stations via a canal for power generation dam had a design capacity of over 2.2 x 106 m3, Over the years the dam has been accumulating silt to the point that its capacity had been reduced by 70%. This has in turn reduced the electricity generated at the two hydro power stations.
